Lucien Rolland Console Table

A highlight of my recent career, this piece first appeared at the 1932 Salon des Arts décoratifs, designed by Lucien Rolland and built by master blacksmith Gilbert Poillerat. This rather long slideshow is a reference for the different techniques I employed in the creation of this challenging piece. The 3rd photo is from a book I purchased 20 years ago, the Decorative Arts in France-1900-1942, and the 4th was given to me by the client in 2012. Both photos are from the same room in Paris in 1932. The work shown here is now in the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai at Pudong
